Equestrian Services, LLC Continues To Expand Staff, Appoints Lindsey McDaniel As Junior Equine Planner
(Charlottesville, VA - June 11, 2007) Equestrian Services, LLC, the provider of turn-key equestrian amenities for communities and resorts throughout the United States, announces today that Lindsey McDaniel has joined the organization as Junior Equine Planner, assisting the design team architects in developing equestrian facility site layouts, providing architectural consultation, conducting research and analysis and participating in land planning for current projects.
McDaniel graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina recently, with a degree in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Environmental Science. Her interests in landscape architecture lie in land conservation and sustainable projects.
“The opportunity to be part of the Equestrian Services team is a real opportunity,” said McDaniel. “Horses and landscape architecture are my two most important passions in life, and they are being fulfilled in my role at this growing company.”
Though newly-graduated, McDaniel already has executed several design projects during her time at NC State, including designing an educational and recreational park that utilized the natural and cultural features of a 1,000-acre farm in Woodford, Virginia.
McDaniel’s longtime horse interest began as a teenager, when she competitively showed her Appaloosa gelding in the Appaloosa circuit throughout the Midwest and the East Coast. Later, her interest expanded to fox hunting and eventing. An active horse lover, today McDaniel spends time riding and attending local horse events whenever she can.
Nearly two million people own the 9.2 million horses in the United States, with another two million people involved as equestrian volunteers or engaged in the equestrian lifestyle through family affiliation, according to the American Horse Council Foundation (AHCF). Horseback riding is among the five fastest growing sports in the U.S.
Equestrian Services offers a developer the opportunity to create an equestrian community under a Signature Equestrian Facility brand that is associated with world-renowned equestrian experts. Modeled on successful golf-industry branding and management concepts, such as Arnold Palmer or Jack Nicklaus golf course communities, Equestrian Services’ partners - John Lyons (“America’s Most Trusted Horseman”™) and Olympians Karen and David O’Connor - offer exclusively the world’s first branded equestrian facilities and amenities to builders and developers seeking to tap into the growing equestrian market.
Equestrian Services’ Lyons and O’Connor Signature Equestrian Facilities are currently being considered in Virginia, California and Florida. The first O’Connor Signature Brand will be featured at The Oaks, a 1,220-acre site in Lake City, FL and will showcase a cross-country course designed by David O'Connor. This facility will open in summer of 2007.
