Equestrian Services, LLC Appoints David Light, Editor of Farm & Ranch Publishing, To Its Blue Ribbon Signature Selection Committee
(Charlottesville, VA – February 5, 2007) Equestrian Services, LLC, the provider of turn-key equestrian amenities for communities and resorts throughout the United States, announces that David Light, Editor and Director of Business Development for Farm & Ranch Publishing, will join its Blue Ribbon Signature Selection Committee.
The Equestrian Services’ Blue Ribbon Signature Selection Committee evaluates whether or not a site meets the criteria of a Signature Equestrian Facility. Signature facilities carry a brand from either John Lyons, “America’s Most Trusted Horseman” or equestrian Olympians Karen and David O’Connor, international English horseback riding champions. The evaluation is based on:
- Size, beauty and topography of the property;
- Site location;
- Quality of the community or resort development plan; and
- Track record of the developer.
“We are pleased David Light will bring his marketing and equestrian real estate knowledge to our Blue Ribbon Signature Selection Committee. David is a true visionary” said Jennifer Donovan, principal and co-founder of Equestrian Services, LLC. “David was instrumental in developing the Equestrian Signature Facility concept - - he has incredible ideas and continually has his finger on the pulse of equestrian trends. He is an integral part of this process and we value his ideas and input.”
“It is an honor to be on the Equestrian Services’ Selection Committee and work with other equestrian enthusiasts as we evaluating potential Signature sites,” said David Light.
Light joins Karen and David O’Connor, John Lyons and Damon DeVito of Affinity Management on the committee.
Light added: “I am thrilled to help evaluate cutting edge equestrian facilities, a residential highlight that will benefit horse owners and horse lovers. I’m looking forward to lending my experience when we research potential nationwide communities.”
Equestrian Services, John Lyons and the O’Connors will offer exclusively the world’s first branded equestrian facilities and amenities. They will be modeled on successful golf industry branding and management concepts. Similar to communities that boast an Arnold Palmer or Jack Nicklaus golf course, Equestrian Services offers a developer the opportunity to create an equestrian community under a Signature Equestrian Facility brand that is associated with world-renowned equestrian experts.
Nearly two million people own the 9.2 million horses in the United States, with another two million people involved as equestrian volunteers or engaged in the equestrian lifestyle through family affiliation, according to the American Horse Council Foundation (AHCF). In fact, horseback riding is among the five fastest growing sports in the U.S.
Equestrian Services’ Lyons and O’Connor Signature Equestrian Facilities are currently being considered in Virginia, California and Florida. The first O’Connor Signature Brand will be featured at The Oaks, a 1,220 acre site in Lake City, Fla., and will showcase a cross country course designed by David O'Connor. This facility is due to open summer 2007.
